    • Managed the business affairs of the 1832 Coffin-Noyes Newburyport comb venture. In 1844 he joined his relative William Noyes in his comb business in West Newbury. The Noyes comb shop was located on the north side of what is now Route 113, several hundred yards east of the intersection with Maple Street. The firm, known as S.C. Noyes and Company, employed in its management not only Somerby C. Noyes, William Noyes, and Hadyn Brown, but also Somerby C. Noyes' son Somerby Newton Noyes.
