    • (OBIT: Curtis A. Thompson, 78, died unexpectedly, at his Limestone residence. Curtis lived his life in Limestone, where he attended Limestone Schools, MCI and Ricker College. After service in the Navy, he farmed for 25 years. Curtis also owned an insurance business and managed the Presque Isle Housing Authority for eight years. He was a faithful member of the Limestone United Methodist Church. Hunting, fishing, playing cribbage, reading good books, especially westerns and listening to music were some of his many interests. He entertained his loving family and friends with his humerous wit and engaged many with his ready smile. He will be greatly missed by all who have loved him dearly.

      Curtis is survived by his wife of 58 years, Neva (Ames) Thompson of Limestone; two daughters, Andrea T. Strubble and her husband, Art, of Glenwood Springs, Colorado and Cheryl T. Habellian and her husband, Newton, of Plains, Montana; two granddaughters, Kara (Struble) Hill and her husband, John, of Seattle, Washington and Kimberly Strubble of Denver, Colorado. In addition, he is survived by one brother, Keith Thompson and his wife, Doris, of Limestone; a brother-in-law, Wayne Ames, and his wife, Rita, of Limestone; a niece, Susan Cloutier and her husband, Jules; a nephew, Stephen Thompson and his wife, Nona; a special cousin, Dot Buck; other nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition, he is survived by a special friend of the family, Sue Pines of Hallowell.

      A service to celebrate the life of Curtis will be held at the Limestone United Methodist Church 2 p.m. Sunday, July 8, with Pastor Ellen Cleaves, officiating. A reception will be held at the church following the service. Those who wish may contribute to the memorial fund at the Limestone United Methodist Church or to the expansion fund for the Frost Memorial Library of Limestone. Envelopes will be available at the church or from the Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou.)
