    • Was among the followers of Rev. Richard Blyman who came to this country in 1640, to be the first pastor of Marblehead, Mass. John Davis had two brothers, William who went to Roxbury and another who went to Barnstable, Mass. They were Welsh gentlemen of good note. John Davis followed the Rev. Blyman to Gloucester, Mass. after the colony at MArblehead broke up in 1641. After a few years, he went to Ipswich, leaving sons Jacob and James in Gloucester.
