Notes |
- August 10, 1703, the Indians murdered her father, and carried her and the rest of the family captives to Canada. The others were redeamed, but she remained with her French masters, who changed her name to "Arabelle." She is mentioned by Stoddard in his Journal, 1713, as "Arabella Jordan, at Trois Rivers." She never returned to her people, but claimed her share of the real estate of her father, and received her part in 1761.
