- He was called "gentleman" of Salisbury and received land in the "first division" 1640 and 1641. Commoner and taxed 1650 and '52; received land in 1654. Representative and treasurer of Norfolk county 1655 and sold his farm in Salisbury to the town in 1657, returning to England soon after.
Winthrop, Hubbard and others state he was in this country in 1633, went into the wilderness to explore and trade with the Indians, returned in January 1633/4; afterwards went to England.
It is probable that he was again in England in 1653 and therefore returned to England three times.
