Late Saturday evening word was received in Afton that Mrs. Esther Call had passed away at the home of her daughter Martha Jensen at Manutua, Utah from an attack of heart trouble.

Mrs. Call will be remembered by most of the elderly people of Star Valley as she lived in Afton from 1890 until about 1910, when she moved to Blackfoot, Idaho and later to Brigham City, Utah. She was one of the two wives of the late Joseph H. Call of Afton. She was the mother of four children one of whom died in infancy. Her oldest daughter, Emma, married Walter Eggleston and was the mother of several children, she passed away several years ago. Her other two daughters, Edna Jensen of Blackfoot, Idaho, and Martha Jensen of Mantua, Utah survive her. She also has several brothers and sisters still living.

Mrs. Call was a staunch church worker all her life and held positions as teacher and president of the Afton Ward Relief Society.

She will also be remembered here for the splendid work she did as a nurse in the valley. she was one of the best here at that time. she would have been 70 years of age next March.

Funeral services were held in the Afton North ward Wednesday at 12:00 o'clock under the direction of Bishop Franklin R. Gardner.

The opening song was rendered by a quartet under the direction of Harvey Allred. Opening prayer was by L.C. Jensen.

A solo was given by Mrs. Mary Call.

The first speaker, Bishop Osborne Low, spoke of the many virtues and useful life of Mrs. Call, and paid tribute to her splendid character and help in church work.

Bishop Gardner then mentioned his early boyhood associations with Mrs. Call and her family, and of the high respect he had for all of them.

The closing song was "Lead Kindly Light" by the quartet.

Closing prayer was offered by Chas. C. Leavitt.

She was buried in the Afton Cemetery. The grave was dedicated by John A. Linford.

The immediate relatives of Mrs. Esther Call, who came in to attend the funeral Wednesday were: Mrs. Edna Jensen, her son Leroy and his wife Fern, her son Nello and daughter Loraine; Mr. and Mrs. Issac Jensen and son Buster and wife; Mr and Mrs. Walter Eggleston and daughters Elmyra and Atwila.
