    • (OBIT: Moses B. Noyes, died at his residence, Green street, on Sunday, at the age of 62 years, and 10 months. The event was not unexpected as the nature of his disease was such as to afford no hope of recovery from the first. Last Thursday morning he experienced a fall on the sidewalk on Green street, while on his way down town. He was assisted to his feet by the neighbors, and furnished with a chair in which he sat for a short time. He then returned to his home in a sort of bewildered condition, and at about 4 o'clock in the afternoon was taken in an apoplectic fit and remained in an unconscious condition until released by death. The deceased was born in Haverhill and was a life long resident of this city, in younger days following the occupation of a shoe cutter, working for a number of years for George & Whittier.

He afterwards followed the butchering business, working for different parties as opportunity occurred. He was one of the oldest, if not the oldest, firemen in the town. For thirty years he was a member of the old Tiger Fire Engine Co., filling at different times the positions of foreman, clerk and treasurer. He was an industrious, upright, useful citizen, and generous to a fault. His wife died about five years ago; since then he has looked upon life as a burden rather than otherwise, and frequently said he was willing and ready to go. He leaves no children, but three sisters survive him, Mrs. S.T. Huse, aged 83 years, Mrs. Eliza Homer, aged 75 years, both of Lynn, and Mrs. Mary West, aged 73, of this city. He attended the Summer St. church.

The funeral will occur from his late residence, on Tuesday, at 2:30 P.M., Rev. Calvin Damon officiating.)
