- He lived in Boscawen, N. H. He was a pioneer settler in Boscawen, and without doubt lived a hard and interesting life. It is stated on good authority that he settled there in 1733 at the age of 17 years. In the History of Boscawen the name "Burbank" appears on the records as a member of the board of selectmen from 1766 to 1872. In the History of Boscawen and Webster (Webster was once a part of Boscawen) there are portraits of several Burbanks -- fine looking men. Also considerable about individual members of the family, and the following deposition by Capt. Moses in 1792, "33 settlers came to Contoocook, to begin, as it were, life anew in the wilderness." They came from Bradford, Mass., and the surrounding towns. The History states that Moses Burbank, Sr., was at the siege of Boston. Also states that Moses Burbank resided on Queen street, on what has since been known as the "Clark" farm, but it is not clear whether this was Moses, Sr., or Moses, Jr. It is hard to distinguish his war record from that of his son Moses, Jr., but presumably most of the war record belongs to Moses, Jr. His title indicates that he was an officer either in the army or militia. Four of his sons served in the Revolutionary war.
He was the fifth of the eight sons of Eleazer3, and outlived all of his brothers, being 87 at the time of his death.
