Peter Sherman of Marshfield, Shipwright, sold to Jonathan Stetson of the same place, land there, "which was set off to my honoured father, Abiel Sherman, decesed, in the division of his father's Estate", 1 Mar. 1831; Ruth, Peter's wife, and Lucy, his mother, released their dower rights, Esther Sherman, witness. (ibid., 174: 238.)
He also sold land to Eliezer Harlow, 26 Nov. 1831, and to Nathaniel Phillips, 21 Mar. 1831; Ruth, his wife, and Lucy, his mother, releasing their dowers. (ibid., 174: 249; 172: 237.)
Peter Sherman, shipwright, and Nathaniel Phillips, yeoman, sell a meadow to Stephen Rogers, all of Marshfield, Ruth wife of Peter, Lucy mother of Peter and Elizabeth, wife of Nathaniel releasing their dowers, 21 Mar. 1831. (ibid., 172: 236.)
John Bates, 2nd, of Weymouth sold to Peter Sherman of Weymouth, late of Marshfield, land in Weymouth, with a barn and stable on it; Mary-G. Bates releasing her dower, 15 May 1852. (ibid., 212: 177.)
Ebenezer-L. Pool of Weymouth sold to Peter Sherman now a resident of sd Weymouth, land there, 5 June 1852; Clarissa-C. Pool releasing her dower. (ibid., 212: 177.)
He also bought land in Marshfield, 4 Apr. 1811 from Jane Fish, widow; and on 4 June 1817, Jane Fish, widow, of Marshfield, Hervey Hall of Bristol, Lincoln Co., [Maine] and Mary his wife, Isaac Porter of Mt. Vernon, Kennebec Co., [Maine] and Sarah his wife sell to Peter Sherman, land and buildings there. (ibid., 132: 223; 133: 150.)
Administration on his estate was requested, 21 Sept. 1875, by Elon Sherman of Weymouth, his eldest son who stated that Peter Sherman who died 13 Sept. 1875, left a widow, Hannah-B. Sherman, and the following heirs, Maria Lowell, wife of Reuben Lowell; Elon Sherman; Cyrus Sherman; Jane-W. Sampson, wife of Daniel-F. Sampson; Joseph Sherman; Orin Sherman; Sarah-M. Gardner, wife of Joseph-D. Gardner; Andrew Sherman of Chelsea; Mary-M. Gardner, wife of Jason Gardner; Isabella Noyes, wife of Henry Noyes of Chelsea, all of age and his children. The administration was granted to him, Elon Sherman of Weymouth. (Plymouth Co., Probate, 16625.)
