    • Jonathan Ferren, as a Lieutenant, marched with Captain John Lovewell in 1724 on his expedition against ye Indian enemy and was present when "ye 10 Indians were killed." Afterward he was admitted to the Voluntierstown Grant (Petersham). In 1752 is is referred to in the Amesbury town records for the first time as Captain.
