Thy absence we deplore.

Notes |
- The parentage of Moses Noyes III is established by Cumberland County, Maine Land Deed; Book 204: page 266 viz "... Mr. William Davis in his right, Eunice wife of the said Wm. Davis in her right, Elisha Noyes, Reuben Noyes and Moses Noyes, children & heirs at law of Moses Noyes late of North Yarmouth deceased ...". This deed dated 21 Oct 1820 establishes Moses Noyes, Jr. as father of these children since Moses, Jr. died 1810 and Moses, Sr. died 1822.
Purchased a farm in Freeport on the Pownal Road and built a home and barn there in 1831. This date is carved into the concrete ramp leading to the original barn. The farm was purchased in three parcels; by Moses Noyes 30 acres in 1831 for $150 (Reg Book 124; pg. 479) and another 25 acres in 1835 for $225 (Reg Book 149; pg. 70). His son, John bought the last 25 acres in 1872 for $176 (Reg. in 1874; Book 411; pg. 199). Mary, Josiah, William, and Charles conveyed their shares to Adelaide and John Noyes by deed Jan. 15, 1880 (Rec Book 473; pg. 344). Grace deeded to John in 1919 after their divorce (Reg Book 1017; pg. 290). Adelaide deeded to John Jan. 31, 1920 (Reg Book 1042; pg. 266). John added the right portion of the home and the shed. John's son, Gilbert, bought Linwood and Earle's share in the late 1920's and raised the roof on the house and shed. Gilbert's brother, Lester, gave his share to Gilbert's wife, Lydia (Verrill) in the summer of 1956 and she and her daughter, Grace, sold the farm in 1981. The original buildings remain there in the year 2000, modernized and owned by Frederick H. and Patricia S. Palmer.
