Notes |
- Walter Goodwin Davis also credits Mary Lowell with a marriage to John Figg, who sued her father's executors and overseers on her behalf 27 July 1675. The Rev. Arthur Wentworth Hamilton Eaton's account of the early Haliburton family mentions that "Administration of the estate of John Figg, late of Boston, who had died at sea in 1677, was granted, 31 July 1677, to his widow, Mary, and from the inventory, rendered 3 Aug. 1677, it is learned that Mary's father had probably lived in Newbury."(11) Mary's parents had died more than thirty years before, while her brother John(3) was baptizing his large family of children in Boston at the time; on the other hand, the Naomi Figg who married Andrew Halliburton, innkeeper of Boston, might well have been named for John(3) Lowell's second wife, Naomi Torrey.
