Noyes and Brother first did business in 1871 at the rear of 88 State Street, Newburyport, but by the turn of the century had located at the northwest corner of Chestnut and BArton Streets in the south end of the city. The three-story main shop building on that site was built in 1905. Throughout the years of its expansion and relocation, the president of the firm was William H. Noyes.
