- (Gordon D. Noyes, 78, of Mountain Iron died Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999, at the Virginia Regional Medical Center.
He was born July 31, 1921, in Virginia to George and Rose (Driscoll) Noyes and was a Virginia/Mountain Iron reident his entire life except when he served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Noyes was a graduate of the Virginia High School and attended Virginia Junior College. He was employed as a locomotive engineer for the Duluth Missabe and Iron Range Railway.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; daughter, Elizabeth (David) Halverson of Poulsbo, Wash.; two step-children, Sandra (Bronco) Herian and Steven (Susan) Henke, both of Virginia; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.)
