Enoch was a child when his father died. Later an account dated 1732 by Sarah Brookings, indicates that Tobias Leighton had been his guardian.
Confirming evidence for this family is provided by a pair of deeds by which James Anderson, Jr., of Freeport, Maine, purchased lots 42 and 43 in Range D in Freeport from the heirs of Enoch Dill, late of North Yarmouth, Maine. These heirs included James' own parents, James and Mary (Dill) Anderson. From the two deeds it is possible to reconstruct the family of Enoch and Ruth (Parsons) Dill.
