    • (OBIT: Philip Tracy, 90, died Aug. 26, 1999. He was born in West Gouldsboro, May 24, 1909, the son of Alfred and Annie (Stevens) Tracy.
      Phil graduated from Winter Harbor High School in 1925. After high school, he worked in the silver factories in Meriden, Conn., for three years. Preferring the country life, he returned to Maine to work with his father and brother as a third generation carpenter.
      Phil was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Eleanor Noyes Tracy in 1991. Surviving are his son, Allen P. Tracy of Ellington, Conn., and his daughter, Mary Lou Hodge of West Gouldsboro; five grandchildren, Christopher Tracy and Cheryl Tracy of Connecticut, Cathy Tracy of Hancock, Philip Gregory Hodge of Bangor and Rebecca J. Partridge of Naples, Fla.; one great-granddaughter, Olivia M. Partridge; two nieces and two nephews.
      At the request of the deceased, there will be no services. Burial was private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Gouldsboro Historical Society, P.O. Box 94, Gouldsboro, ME 04607.)
