  	(OBIT: Beatrice Eileen Noyes, age 88, of Eau Claire, died on Friday, April 1, at her daughter’s home in Barnes, Wis. She was born on April 14, 1916, to the late Lewis and Ida Jessel in Elk Mound, Wis. She attended Elk Mound schools and then enrolled at the Eau Claire State Teachers College where she earned her teaching degree. In 1940, she met and married Francis Cronkhite of Crown Point, Ind., and they were blessed with two children, Donald Herbert and Mary Jo. They lived in Kankakee, Ill., where she taught school. Francis served in the Marines during WW II and lost his life in March of 1945, on Iwo Jima. Beatrice moved back to Eau Claire taking a teaching position at the newly built Sam Davey Elementary School where she taught until her retirement. In 1961, Beatrice married Richard Noyes and they were together for 42 years until he died of cancer in 2003. They both shared a passion for travel, golf, reading and family. Many enduring friendships were forged during the time they owned their winter home in Pharr, Texas. Beatrice is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo (David) Scharlau of Barnes, Wis.; brother, Merton (Bobbi) Jessel of Wichita Falls, Texas; five grandchildren, Marjorie Blaschko, Linda Hanson, Gary Scharlau, Scott Scharlau and Amy Landrum; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law; and many friends. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Francis and Richard; and son, Donald. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at Rest Haven Cemetery with the Reverend Chris Paulson officiating. A time for remembrance will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home (Golf Road, one block East of Hwy. 93). In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Altoona Public Library. Evergreen Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.)
