Notes |
- Place name meaning, cheerful. Brook where David left 200 weary soldiers while he and the remaining 400 pursued the Amalekites after they had burned Ziklag and captured David’s wives (1 Sam 30:9-10). David rewarded those who stayed as well as those who fought (1 Sam 30:21-24). The Besor is probably wadi Ghazzeh about fifteen miles south of Ziklag.
