    • He moved to Monmouth, ME with his family in 1816. The family then moved to Akinson, ME in 1829, in the wake of a "lumber boom" around Oldtown and the Upper Penobscot River. They traveled "northward by the Old Garland or Charleston Road into Atkinson", where they purchased a "good outlook two miles or more on the same road, further north near Alder Stream.
