    • (The Noyes Descendants, Vol. II says 29 Apr 1728. Married by John Saunders, J.P., of Westerly. This was one of the very few elopements which ever took place in the quiet village of Stonington, and owed its occasion to the fact that Elizabeth Noyes was " of one of the celebrated " old families, " that of the Rev. James Noyes," one of the " Yale's first corporate fraternity, the Newport Sanfords and Governor Brenton." )
