A Graduate Of Old Town High School In 1937, He Attended Clemson College In South Carolina And The University Of Maine At Orono. A Veteran Of World War Ii, He Served In The 8th U.S. Army Air Corps In The 834th Bomb Squadron Of The 486th Group In The "Flying Fortress" B-17 Bomber. He Retired From General Electric Co. In Bangor In 1983, After 15 Years Of Employment, And Moved To Citrus Springs, Fla. He Is Survived By His Wife, Elaine Morancy Noyes Of Citrus Springs, Fla.; Three Daughters, Merlene Cowles Of Edgecomb, Brenda Boucher Of Fort Kent And Rebecca Noyes Of Summerville, S.C.; One Son, Steven Noyes Of Summerfield, Fla.; Six Grandchildren, Four Great-Grandchildren, One Brother, Maurice R. Noyes Of Greenbush; Four Sisters, Margaret Noyes Of Skowhegan, Phyllis Bulduc Of Old Town, Ruth Thompson Of Glenburn, And Debby Gillespie Of South Portland; Several Nieces And Nephews. A Memorial Service Will Be Held At A Later Date. Inurnment Will Be At Hillside Cemetery, Bradford, Maine.

      BEVERLY HILLS, FLA. - Merle Isaac Noyes, 82, formerly of Old Town, died Aug. 18, 2000 at Crystal River, Fla. He was retired from General Electric Co. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Morancy Noyes; three daughters, Merlene, Brenda, and Rebecca; one son, Steven; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one brother; and four sisters. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at Bradley Baptist Church with Pastor Daniel Muscatell officiating. Inurnment will be at Hillside Cemetery, Bradford.)
