  	(OBIT: Donald I. Starbird, 72, of Pittsfield passed away on June 18, 2005 at Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield with his family at his side during his last days. Donald was truly loved and will be greatly missed. He was born on January 21, 1933 in Pittsfield, Maine, the son of Ivan and Ella (Noyes) Starbird. He was proud of having served his country in the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army. He loved his fishing, hunting, bowling and his dog Bruno. He was a very funny person and that is what attracted people to him. He is survived by his wife Carolyn of 47 years of Pittsfield, two sons, Kevin Starbird and his wife Brenda of Goldbeach, OR, Douglas Starbird and his wife Carol of Clifton, three daughters, Tammy Cassidy and her husband Michael of St. Albans, Rhonda Blomgren and her husband Chris of Pittsfield, Kelly Maker and her husband Franklin of Palmyra, ten grandchildren, Heather, Jerrit, Doug Jr., Bryce, Jessica, Kyle, Ross, Matthew, Paige, Chad, two great-grandchildren, Katana and Trinity to whom he was lovingly called “Pop”, one brother, Jan Starbird and his wife Maryann of Bangor, one sister, Marie Turner and her husband Carroll of Newport, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Gilbert and David. Visitation will be on Tuesday June 21, 2005 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, 35 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield, Maine, and a funeral service will be held on Wednesday June 22, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel with Pastor Eric Kelly officiating with a internment to follow at Village Cemetery in Pittsfield. Donation may be made in Donald's memory to the Respitory Department, Sebasticook Valley Hospital, 99 Grove Street, Pittsfield, Maine 04967.)
