      James King must have located first at Haverhill, Mass., in a part of Haverhill which is now Plaistow, N.H. The town records say that James King of Plaistow married Deliverance Harriman of Haverhill, on March 6,1760. She was born in Haverhill Sept. 23, 1738, and was a daughter of Nathaniel and Sarah (Page) Harriman. (See account of Harriman family further on). Three children were born to them in Haverhill;
      1. Sarah, b. April 30, 1761; died young
      2. John, b. Jan. 16, 1763
      3. James, b. May 20, 1765

      The Grafton Co., (N.H.) Gazeteer has this to say about the third son, James, jr.; “James King was the original settler on the farm now occupied, (in 1886), by L. H. Chase and C. H. Cummings, on road 7. In 1781, at the age of 16, he enlisted in the Continental Army from Sutton, N. H., where he was born. He served to the close of the war. Cummings, now living on the farm, are direct descendants.” James Jr.’s Revolutionary record is given in the “New Hampshire State Papers, Vol. XXX, page 328.
